The beautiful interiors below are historical period rooms that span decades made to replicate the actual layout and look of a real life room. These rooms are not real, in fact just made to scale, miniature “doll houses†that appear in museums across the U.S. They can be viewed at the Phoenix Art Museum and the Art Institute of Chicago. These gorgeous rooms look so real, I just want to throw myself in the room and touch all the fabrics and furniture! It just makes me realize once more how much history is a part of today’s design, and the influence looking to the past can have for inspiration on current projects.
