Pinterest: Full of Good Ideas!
Many people are catching wind of one of the internets newest shining star websites, “Pinterest.com” I recently, like many bloggers, shared with you about this great resource, where you can collect images of anything you’re interested in, from Apples to Zebra’s and anything in between! Where you trade or collect images from other members”pinboards” to add to your own collections or “Boards” as they are known. Well, I, like many have a pinboard that includes recipes, with beautiful photos from various websites displaying delicious looking foods! So, I thought I’d share with you, one of those recipes I used this weekend that came in very handy yesterday for Easter, and tell you how easy it was and what a hit they were at my family Easter celebration. They were originally pinned from a website called www.foodjimoto.com with direct link at: http://www.foodjimoto.com/2011/04/easter-eggs.html , where they had detailed photo instructions of how to make dyed Easter “deviled egg’s”- They were easy, and fun and a terrific hit!

Aubergine Emporium
Simi Valley, CA is a gem of a city nestled as its name says in its own little valley in the outer regions of Ventura County, in California. It’s a small town, with Big appeal and one of the things I find so appealing are the amount of diverse antique Shoppe’s for a town of its size, ranging from the cluttered, scavenger hunt “Pick your way through” variety to the more polished and refined “don’t touch anything” type, and a bit of everything in between, but I must say, time and time again I’m drawn back to one of my favorites, and that being the lovely “Aubergine Emporium” Located on the corner of Valley Fair St and the old lamp lined Tapo Street.
Amongst all the amazing vendors who have carved out their own niches and artfully placed their finds, there is an overall artistic feel about the place that comes from the hands of owner, and artisan; Pat Berry, who keeps the décor fresh and inventive constantly. Pat is one talented lady, with an amazing eye for design that keeps you interested in what’s around the next corner of her fantastic store, and never ceases to amaze me with what she comes up with! So, If you’re ever in the Simi Valley area and want a fun antique adventure, I encourage you to drop in and browse around, you’ll be happy you did!

Spring Decor to Adore
Wanna fun Spring craft project, that will result in having a sweet everyday decor item for your home or office, or an amazing gift for someone special? How about making a terrarium, or what some refer to as a container garden! After seeing a several cute ideas online for the smaller type variety, I’m encouraged to try my hand at making one…or two… ( I was thinking, it would make a lovely Mother’s day gift ) So, with supplies in hand of pea gravel for the bottom layer (drainage), charcoal second (aeration) soil (obviously) the plants (probably succulents) and moss topper for (absorbtion) I’ll be ready to layer in a pretty glass container , I’m thinking a deep dish glass cake plate with glass cover, then it’s time for some fun to fill in with toys and such, maybe a little gnome village ?…
Maybe I’ll make one to use for Easter decor, you know, using little plastic toy bunnies and toadstools, mini robins eggs and other Easter ephemera I can find from the craft stores or in my own crafting collection, maybe something from my jewelry chest… kids toy collections… then change out the decor throughout the year, if it all goes well and I can keep the little plants alive! So, with a little time investment, a little creativity, and a little online education, I’m hoping it’ll be a success. Wish me luck and I’ll let ya know how it turned out !
