Olioboard is Awesome!
Hi there, sorry its been a while since my last post, part of my busyness has been, taking in all I can of my new favorite website!…. http://olioboard.com I’ve recently shared with you how amazing both Pinterest.com and Olioboard.com are, and how fast they’re growing in popularity. Let me just say off the top, both websites are completely addictive, and a lot of fun! But, the big difference between the two being; while Pinterest allows you to store your favorite images in personal interests boards, then swap and share with other members, Olioboard takes it a step or two further and allows you to use those images you love, by storing them in your “Olio library”, then basically become your own “Virtual Designer” dragging and dropping those images and loads of others you’ll find, to your own canvas of sorts, to create your own design. I love the Olioboard community, filled with so many creative and talented people from all over the planet, and it’s not for Pro designers only. I encourage you to give Olioboard a try and sign up…Olioboard is “Free” by the way!
Well, I’m extremely excited and proud to say that I’ve just won my first Olioboard contest! It was sponsored by, “One King’s Lane” the online home goods store, which I’ve been a fan of for a while now. There were so many beautiful boards that were created for this contest, it’s a wonder how Olioboard’s CEO and Co-Founder; Sheilah MacSporran ever came to a decision, as she was the judge on this challenge, but I was ever so honored to find out that my “OKL”design board, named “Long Live the King” was the final “1st Prize Winner” for which, I won a $100.00 dollar gift certificate to the “One King’s Lane” store, as well as so many friendly and sweet compliments from my fellow Olioboarders, …as I said, I just love the Olioboard community!
This is my winning entry…So, what do you think? Come join me on Olioboard.com for some designing fun! You can find me under the name: asite2behold (AKA Ronda)

Aubergine Emporium
Simi Valley, CA is a gem of a city nestled as its name says in its own little valley in the outer regions of Ventura County, in California. It’s a small town, with Big appeal and one of the things I find so appealing are the amount of diverse antique Shoppe’s for a town of its size, ranging from the cluttered, scavenger hunt “Pick your way through” variety to the more polished and refined “don’t touch anything” type, and a bit of everything in between, but I must say, time and time again I’m drawn back to one of my favorites, and that being the lovely “Aubergine Emporium” Located on the corner of Valley Fair St and the old lamp lined Tapo Street.
Amongst all the amazing vendors who have carved out their own niches and artfully placed their finds, there is an overall artistic feel about the place that comes from the hands of owner, and artisan; Pat Berry, who keeps the décor fresh and inventive constantly. Pat is one talented lady, with an amazing eye for design that keeps you interested in what’s around the next corner of her fantastic store, and never ceases to amaze me with what she comes up with! So, If you’re ever in the Simi Valley area and want a fun antique adventure, I encourage you to drop in and browse around, you’ll be happy you did!
